Local NS and SOA Records

Tonight I had a site mysteriously disappear and revert to the old DNS in one browser while giving me a botched up version of the new site in another browser.  Really weird stuff.  I flushed the dns cache on my Macbook and cleared the cache in my browsers to no avail.

It turns out that the local NS and SOA records on the server somehow got messed up and were pointing to the old nameservers.  The parent nameservers were correct, though, which probably accounts for some of the confusion between browsers.

Stuff like this just goes to show me once again how much I don’t know.  🙂
